Tofu Steak

Ingredients:
Marinade:
1/4 cup light soy sauce
3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
2 tsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp liquid smoke
1/2 tsp maple syrup
3 tbsp water
1 cup frozen peas
4 medium carrots
1/2 head of Spring Greens
1 white onion
Olive oil
2 garlic cloves
Juice of 1/2 a lime
Method:
Mix the marinade in a glass contained. Cut the tofu block into steaks. Score lines length and widthways into the extra firm tofu (both sides), and press it into the marinade. Leave it overnight in the fridge, and in the morning turn it around so the liquid is soaked throughout. You can marinade from one hour upwards, but the longer the better.
Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a non stick pan. Finely slice the onion, and add to the pan sprinkled with salt. Cook till translucent. Cut the carrots in half lengthwise, and slice them finely. Add to the pan and sprinkle with the chicken seasoning.
Wash each spring green leaf, roll them tightly and finely slice. Add them to the pan with the garlic finely chopped, and the frozen peas. Season with black pepper. Plate it up and use the same pan to sear the tofu steak (all sides) till nicely brown.
